Thank you

In mid-March 2020, we had to decide whether to close the Food and Clothes Pantries until health conditions related to COVID-19 improved or find ways to stay open.

The Food Pantry closed for just one week; the following week, food distribution shifted from inside the pantry to distribution “at the curb.” As drivers approached the Food Pantry’s entrance, volunteers moved food pre-bundled during the weekend to outdoor tables, and other volunteers placed the food in open trunks or hatchbacks. Donors helped us purchase milk and meat, and provided gifts in kind, such as baggies, face masks, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, diapers, personal care products, and cleaning supplies.

The Clothes Pantry did close in mid-March, given that winter-weather prohibited moving our collection of clothes outside. Donors, however, continued to supply the Clothes Pantry with clothes. In June, volunteers sorted the clothes received during the ten weeks the clothes Pantry was closed in preparation for the re-opening on July 13.

We could not have managed to continue our work without the support of our volunteers, friends, donors, and the entire community. When we needed a boost, you came forward and offered your time, treasure and talent.

Thank you, everyone.
